Emerald City Comicon and the Acts of Violence debut

Emerald City is a con that myself, Todd and Kevin have been doing for about 6 or 7 years and every year it just gets better and better. This year was the busiest I’ve ever seen it! We were on our feet for the entire con and, by the end of the second day, barely had our voices left.
The reaction to the book was overwhelmingly positive. We sold far more copies than expected (thankfully we brought down plenty) and left the con on a super high, feeling good about the world. We’re so proud of this book and are thrilled that people seem to be meeting it with the same enthusiasm that we feel for it.

Guys, I can’t tell you how excited I am to be writing this. I was lucky enough to pick up an early copy of this at Vancouver Comicon last weekend, and I’ve been smiling ear to ear ever since.
This book is pure quality. Anthologies are often hit-and-miss affairs, but I was pleased to see that you decided to leave the misses out of this one. Air tight plots, interesting and varying art styles, and fantastic execution. If I HAD to pick a favourite, it would be “The Orchard”, but I found some greatness in every story.
I picked this up in the same weekend as I read Peter MIlligan’s “The Bronx Kill”. I thought I was going to get one great crime fiction read that weekend, and it turned out that I got too.
Can’t wait for the next volume! Maybe even a different genre this time? “Acts of Horror”? “Acts of Romance”?
